The snow is finally starting to melt...fast....it was fun while it lasted. More rain is expected...then back into the 60's and 70's.....I have housework to do today...with breaks in between to work in the studio..hope everyone has a warm and cozy Friday.

This is baby Marion getting to know the family cow....I just had to post this photo ....I love it!
Marion is my Grandmother's sister's (Maude) child. Marion and my Dad are cousins. They were both born at around the same time.

Running Errands

Great Uncle Polly....Baby Marion...and my Great Great Grandfather (Grandpap)..and the horses are Billy and Mouse. Thank Goodness my Grandmother wrote the names on most of these old photos....or else..I wouldn't have a clue!
Today is "run errand" day for me....pay bills...grocery store...and post office! It's not raining..but it's chilly outside...I'm anxious to get everything done...so I can get back home and play! I'm going to bake chocolate chip cookies! I was just looking at this old photo..and thinking "What if we had to run errands with our wagon and horses" ????!!!!

Okay...please hang in there with me....I got a new printer...(yes)!!! but I have to learn the ins and outs all over again...I switched from an HP to an Epson....I know that the new one will be lots better...but it's gonna take me awhile to get it perfected! I've had a really busy weekend....and I managed to get another very old vintage photo album to scan.....(big smile)...the photo above is from the album.....underneath the photo my Grandmother wrote:
"Her father was telegraph operator in Verdi (Nevada)...later he was train dispatcher out of Sparks (Nevada).

They look so proud! This is Great Aunt Lillian...and Great Uncle Aaron. My Dad tells me that Great Aunt Lillian was quite a stylish dresser in her day...

Baby...It's Cold Outside !!!!!!!!

I must have my mind on the cold temperatures! Here are 2 more vintage photos...the top one was taken at my Gram and Grandpa's ranch in 1945. The bottom photo is from left to right...Great Uncle Polly....Aunt Sis....Grandma...Great Aunt Lillian...My Dad..and ???? on a trip to Tahoe in JULY !!!!!!!!!! 1928.

Loving Old Photos

Yes.....I have TONS of old vintage photos...this one particular album that belonged to my Grandmother is thick...crammed full of photos...usually 6-9 photos on each page depending on the size...the outside of the photo album says 1915-1945...My Dad was born in 1916...that's alot of photos to scan...plus I have to go slow because lots of the photos are so fragile...I try to do a few everyday...There are still lots more after this one!
This one is My Great Grandmother and my Great Aunt Lillian. I just LOVE looking at the clothes...shoes...hats...the backgrounds...sometimes I sit and stare at one photo for so long...I study the faces...every little detail...I put stories together with them....and wonder (like in this picture)...Where are they? I wonder where they are going??? and what for???? I believe I heard one time that my Great Grandmother had a bad hip....that would explain the cane! I consider myself so lucky to have these photos...and to be able to see with my own eyes a little slice of my family's history...I also say a silent thank-you every time I look at them to my Grandmother for being such a camera crazed picture taker...I do remember growing up..and at every family gathering...or everytime we went out to visit her at her ranch...she would always have her camera near by...and she would always be "rounding us up" so she could snap a photo! I find myself doing the same thing...(much to everyone's moans and groans)...Well...they can moan and groan all they want...someday maybe...when I'm long gone..Ty will be looking at all the old photos that her "Mom-Mom" took...and she will say a silent thank-you to me for doing the very same thing as my Grandmother did before me...TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!!!!!!!!

Great Grandmother Mary and my Dad...1916

Harry and Madge Lee....My Great Grandmother's maiden name was Lee. I wish I knew more information...but nobody is left who would know. My Dad tells me what he remembers...but at 90 one's memory is not always the best.
It is super cold here today..temps. last night in the 20's......Brrrr.....I have errands to run today (since I didn't do them yesterday)...some house cleaning to get done...and I'm going to bake a cake today...also scan more photos...Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Another Oldie

Verdi Lumber Co. My Grandmother was born in Verdi, Nevada.

I just love this one! This is my Dad and my Great Grandmother Mary. 1916.....I am so lucky to still have my Dad with me!!!! He will be 91 years old in June!

Another old photo...I think that this is my Grandmother's brother's wife. Look at the shoes and coat...pretty stylin! I will be posting lots of old vintage photos in the year to come....I am in the process of scanning all the old albums that I can get my hands on!
