On Sunday morning An and I decided to take a ride up Carson Road thru Apple Hill...early..before all the tourists jammed the roads...here is just a touch of what we saw along the way..BEAUTY...BEAUTY...AND MORE BEAUTY!!! Apple Hill is all about pies fresh from the ovens..and caramel apples, and ciders, and juices...there is preserves, syrups, and thick cinnamon sauces...it is about picnics on a nice grassy spot underneath a shady tree...a fine glass of wine or newly brewed beer...it is about warm cinnamon apple doughnuts..and produce that is some of the best...sweet corn, vine ripened tomatoes, fresh green beans, chestnuts, persimmons, zucchini, pumpkins and colorful flowers. As Fall gives away to Winter it is time for a warm flannel shirt so you are prepared to go cut your own fresh Christmas tree from one of the many Christmas tree farms.....along your trip thru the back roads you'll find pony rides for the kids...sunflower mazes...fudge shops....and tons of handmade crafted items from local artists....I am so very fortunate to live in this beautiful area.....
