Here is another atc I finished last night...(this one is for a personal swap)....
We are still in the middle of a HEATWAVE.....temps. are in the 100's....Saturday it's supposed to be 107 !!!!! That is just too dang HOT! I have been roasting...trying to get things done in the morning hours....giving the veggie and flower gardens lots of water....doing any errands that need done..In the afternoon the only thing I manage to accomplish is to float in the pool....(which ain't all bad)....Hope everyone is finding ways to keep cool.....speaking of...here are least 10 ways I keep "COOL"...
1. WATER...to swim in...and to drink!!!
2. Plenty of ice in the drinks
3. A spray bottle with ice cold water in it....
4. Cold showers
5. Floating on the air mattress in the pool.
6. Day dreaming of floating on an iceberg.
7. Wearing next to nothing.
8. Root Beer Floats !!!!
9. Fans....everywhere!
10. Homemade refreshing lemonade.
Okay...let's hear from you guys what YOU do to keep "COOL"....???????(Daisy...Janet...Beth...Annie..Maryellen...Button....Lauri.... Tammy...and whoever else wants to respond!)

Oh I know what you're talking about!!!! We are roasting here. We have 109ยบ predicted for over the weekend!

My fav way to cool off is to take a shower then stand in front of a fan to dry off! Even with a/c I keep several fans going, too.

And I like your idea #8, too!!!

I am out in the yard at 6 a.m., in by 7:30 and drenched in sweat. The rest of the day I am sitting in the art room with the fan blowing on me. I am like Janet,,even with the air conditioning I still have to have the fans. Nice cool shower at night before bed. Hey,,they are saying keep your animals in here as alot of them are dying of heat strokes,,tell that to the neurotic, dot chasing, brat terrier,,lol.
Stay cool girlie,,,hope you get some packages today!

I just am cool, I don't have to work at it. LOL, jokes aside. I pay my utility bill so my air conditioner keeps working. I also live under huge Sycamore trees and so sun only really affects the interior in the late afternoon. Good insulation in the wall and ceiling, lots of thermal mass throughout the house, lots of tree shades and pull the blinds on the side the sun is shining in. Can you tell I work for the Energy Commission. Staying cool is my job.

That is a lovely picture. I've got a magazine of Japanese poetry that I'm using to make collages for greetings cards - so far they've all been nature designs, but you've inspired me to do something different for the next design! Thanks!

As for keeping cool - when I lived in Malawi, we used umbrellas to shade us from the heat. Plus I always try to walk in the shade where I can and weear loose fitting clothes in light coloured, light weight natural materials. (preferably linen)

you are sure having some hot days over there - I am dreading summer, ours usually follow the same pattern as the Northern hemisphere and it will be a scorcher by the sound of it. Even though it is chilly here, I think I would rather the cold for sure. stay cool!

It's almost 100 even here in Mass! Let's hear it for 1)frozen daiquiris, 2)air conditioned bedrooms, 3)the ever popular slip and slide (though not mixed with idea #1!!)4) Italian ice... even lying down in an empty bathtub is sometimes cooling - lol!
